Everyone wants to know how to follow their passion. Following your passion is really about being true to the things that make up your personality, your interests and your natural abilities.

I love getting around people who you can tell are following their passions. You can feel that sense of fulfillment, purpose and joy. I’ve noticed that there are usually a few signs that someone is following their passion.

FIRST OF ALL, THEY SPEAK WITH EXCITEMENT.

I’ve never met anyone who claims to be following their passion who lives with a frown on their face.

SECONDLY, THEY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT TO ACCOMPLISH NEXT.

Often, they may not know their next five to 10 steps, but they know for sure where they’re going.

THIRD, THEY’RE CONVINCED THAT WHAT THEY’RE DOING IS RIGHT.

FOURTH, THEY HAVE AN INSATIABLE CURIOSITY.

Passionate people are also the most curious. They always have another question, another idea to explore, another problem to figure out. Their passion fuels their courage to seek those answers out.

What’s great is that when you meet someone who is following their passion, it often inspires you even more in your passion.

As leaders, that’s what we should do every day for the people we’re leading. We have to be willing to be passionate about the things we are doing because it’s only by being passionate that we can truly inspire those around us.
